No. The speech model runs on your Mac or PC, on both plans. Your account only knows which plan you are on and how many words you dictated this week — never what you said.

Yes — an AppImage for x86_64, and a .deb for Debian and Ubuntu, both on the download page. It needs an X11 session: under Wayland the held key chord does not reach mumble yet. Current Ubuntu and Fedora with GNOME no longer offer one — a desktop that still does (KDE Plasma on X11, Xfce, Cinnamon, MATE) or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS works.
